I am an attorney (member of the California Bar) and represent clients in copyright matters. I have nearly ten years’ experience as a creative professional, doing photography, video and design work. In addition, I have managerial experience and can assemble creative teams for short-term shooting assignments and lead them through execution of creative briefs.
Running my own production business, www.TheDreamShot.com, I perform both the creative tasks of shooting and editing photography/video work and the legal tasks of licensing creative assets. Being a lawyer allows me to materialize my own creative vision and help other creatives do the same.
My legal clients include independent artists, photographers and filmmakers who are navigating the complex world of intellectual property matters. Most of them need counsel on how to best protect themselves and be able to move past the initial stage of relying on individual projects to run their business. I am a firm believer in educating my clients about the way their work should be treated as an investment that needs nurture and care. I understand the concerns of “the little guy/gal” and I help them see that the potential for making, distributing and licensing content in today’s internet age is ever-growing and rapidly evolving. The old saying that “content is king” is as true as ever and I strive to make the best content myself and to help my clients do the same.
